Moving Checklist 

• Coordinate with Canada Post for your mail to be forwarded to the new home address 
• Make necessary arrangements for moving (moving supplies, moving boxes, moving truck)
• Set up and arrange utilities for the new home (gas, water, HWT, electrical meters, furnace, insurance etc.) 
• Disconnect and/or transfer any existing utilities to the new home 
• Cancel any services or pre-authorized payments (cable, telephone, internet etc.) in the existing home
• Set-up necessary services for the new home (telephone, cable, internet etc.)
• Properly dispose flammable liquids before starting the moving process 
• If applicable, special arrangements for moving your pets (medical records, daycare etc.)
• If applicable, registering your children at the new school (learn more top Mississauga schools)
• Notify appropriate companies and complete needed forms for the change of address:
  • Driver's licence, passport, mailing
  • Medical health (dentist, doctor, pharmacy, optical, health card)
  • Insurance (automobile, life insurance, health insurance, work or school insurance)
  • Subscriptions (flyers, newsletters etc.)
  • Memberships (gym, social etc.)
  • Bank accounts (credit card, debit card etc.)
